Across the distance of oceans and years, citizenship does not expire — yet for many Americans living in Ghana, the right to vote has remained more theoretical than real. On August 29 in Accra, the Vote from Abroad Team will gather at Theia Coffee House to transform that abstraction into action, guiding US expatriates through the mechanics of overseas registration ahead of the 2026 midterm elections. It is a small event with a modest goal — fifty new voters — but it speaks to a larger democratic truth: participation requires not just the right, but the knowledge and the means to exercise it.
