Two police officers among seven killed in wrong-way A66 crash

In the early hours of a Friday morning on the A66 near Middlesbrough, seven lives ended in a single collision — two Cleveland Police officers on routine patrol and five young people in a car travelling the wrong way into their path. The pursuit that had briefly connected these two vehicles had already been called off; what remained was simply the terrible geometry of two cars on the same road, moving toward each other.
