On October 27, NC's Throne and Liberty received what was called a routine update, yet it quietly reshaped three things at once: the hunt for Skill Cores, the logic by which damage is judged, and the path toward a larger overhaul of how Cores are held. It is the familiar rhythm of a living world, where players who have learned one set of rules are asked to learn the next. The real weight of the moment sits ahead, on November 11, when the way Cores attach to characters will be rebuilt entirely.
Throne and Liberty Buffs Skill Core Drops, Overhauls Damage Rules, and Teases November Core Rework
Imprinting ends; each scroll converts to 1.22 million Sollant
Why does splitting damage into two types matter?
Because it tells players which stats actually work. Defense-ignoring damage still responds to crits and Damage Reduction. Fixed damage responds to nothing once set.
So were the tooltip changes real balance changes?
Mostly clarifications. Foreseen Pain got explanatory text with no change to its effect, while Spike Dash and Mortal Mark got real adjustments.
Worth saying plainly: the report lists the numbers but not how they play out. We don't know how much the drop rates rose.
Right, no percentages given for Cores.
Correct. Only that rates are higher, and that Co-op runs without a Core give Resin Cores.
What about the November change?
Cores move to character registration, free swapping, and imprinting ends. Scrolls convert to Sollant and materials.
That's a teaser for now. Details like the sets and recipes aren't spelled out, so how it feels will only be clear on November 11.
And the existing gear?
Cores come back by mail, and Archboss-line equipment returns as non-tradable.
Der Puls
- Skill Cores now drop more often across Tumgir, the Abyss, Rift Chests and Co-op Dungeons, and empty Co-op runs now yield Resin Cores instead.
- Damage has been split into defense-ignoring and fixed categories, so Defense, Evasion and Skill Damage stats no longer behave the way players had learned.
- Tooltips, skill specializations and equipment values were corrected or retuned, with several weapons shifting their power across PvP and PvE.
- Vegamont bosses, Guild Battle stages and Tumgir Vault timers received fixes after freezes and disconnections were reported.
- On November 11, Cores move from gear imprinting to character registration, and imprinting ends with owned scrolls converted into Sollant and materials.
On October 27, NC pushed an update to Throne and Liberty that looked routine on the surface but carried several changes at once. Skill Cores and higher-tier Cores now drop more often in Tumgir, the Abyss and Rift Chests, and Co-op Dungeons offer better odds as well. A run that produces no Core now grants Resin Cores instead, a small mercy for players who have spent long hours chasing them.
The damage rules were the most technical shift. Damage is now split into defense-ignoring and fixed categories, which changes how Defense, Evasion and Skill Damage stats interact with certain Cores. Several skills were tuned in practice too: Spike Dash can stack more damage, Venomous Swamp finally respects its trigger limit, and Mortal Mark's runaway bonus was pulled back. Weapons like the Snow Spirit Sword and Darkbone Blade were reshaped as well, changing the calculus for PvP and PvE builds.
The larger story arrives November 11. Cores will no longer be imprinted onto gear. Players will register them to a character, slot them into a dedicated menu, and switch between free combinations. Existing Core-bearing gear will be unequipped and mailed back, and imprinting and extraction end with their materials. Owned scrolls convert into Sollant and rare crafting materials, so players holding them can plan accordingly. November 11 is the date to watch.
On October 27, NC pushed a routine update to its MMORPG Throne and Liberty. It was labeled routine, but it did three things at once: it made Skill Cores easier to find, it rewrote how two kinds of damage are judged, and it set up a larger Core overhaul for November 11.
The drop changes come first. Skill Cores and higher-tier Cores now drop more often in Tumgir and the Abyss, and Rift Chests also get a boost. Co-op Dungeons see higher rates for both kinds of Core. In those dungeons, a run that yields no Core now awards Resin Cores instead. Boss and Guild content schedules were also adjusted to line up with the global service integration.
The damage rules were the most technical change. The game now separates defense-ignoring damage from fixed damage. Defense-ignoring damage is unaffected by Defense, Skill Damage Boost, or Skill Damage Resistance, but Critical/Heavy Hit Damage, Bonus Damage, Damage Reduction and similar stats still apply. Fixed damage, once its value is set, is unaffected by any stats. Tooltips were corrected to match: Sword Core Veil Breaker and Greatsword Core Fissure now describe damage that ignores Evasion and Defense. Dagger Core Foreseen Pain received text clarifying that it deals unavoidable fixed damage, with no change to its actual effect.
Some skills did change in practice. Greatsword Spike Dash's charging damage specialization can now stack its Damage Boost up to 2 times. For Dagger Core Venomous Swamp, a per-second trigger limit that had not applied to Venomous Blade damage now does. Crossbow Mortal Mark's accumulated bonus damage, which ran higher than intended, was reduced. Longbow Mark of the Abyss now applies its Hit Increase specialization and the Potential Ability's Critical Increase to party members. Staff Core Dark Cloud can now be blocked with Defense Skills; the cloud itself still cannot be evaded or cleansed, but Evasion stats apply to the falling lightning bolts that follow.
Equipment changed too. In PvP, the maximum-HP-based damage of Giant Brook's Lightstar Sword and Snow Spirit Sword became fixed damage per second, at 2.5% and 3.5% respectively. The Snow Spirit Sword's base continuous damage rose from 132% to 144%. Ancient Beast's Darkbone Blade now deals 550% of Base Damage on its chance-based hit, up from 400%. Last Dragon's Thunderstorm Dagger raised its PvP bonus against targets at or below 50% HP from 2.5% to 3% of the target's HP. Both of those effects count as unavoidable fixed damage. Queen Blendi's Flaming Fist and Lightstar Gauntlets gained internal cooldowns on their pull effects, 34 seconds and 18 seconds.
The schedule changes are long. Peace Terrabosses appear Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, and Guild Terrabosses on Thursdays at one of those times. Peace Archbosses run Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday at both times; Guild Archbosses run daily except Thursday. Guild Field Bosses appear daily at 8:30 PM and 11:30 PM. Boonstones and Riftstones, Tax Delivery and Castle Siege each have fixed evening slots, with Sunday siege events alternating between home server and inter-server. Dimensional Trials and Gate of Infinity end their current schedules on November 3 and 4, and new ones start November 11, when Battlegrounds and Illusion Corridor also begin a new season.
Vegamont got fixes as well. Its reward claim cooldowns are now separate from Archbosses. In Guild Battle Stage 2, Vegarion is gone, and one ballista hit on the lower seam creates an ice tornado. In the Stage 3 cave, the poison can no longer be cleansed and lasts longer. Fixes also covered screen freezing, disconnections during world movement, and a bug that extended time limits in Tumgir Vault.
The bigger change arrives November 11. Cores will no longer be imprinted onto gear. Players will register them to a character using an item and slot them in a dedicated skill-menu slot, with free equipping and unequipping and new Core sets for switching combinations. Effects require Unique equipment plus a matching Core. Archboss-line weapon Cores will come as rewards for weapon acquisition achievements. Cores on existing Unique gear will be unequipped and mailed, while Archboss-line Cores are recalled and the original equipment returned as non-tradable. New Cores, new sources, higher-tier Resin Flower rates (not applying to existing Flowers) and guaranteed-Core crafting recipes will also arrive.
Imprinting and extraction end, along with their materials. Each owned Imprint Scroll converts to 1.22 million Sollant. Each Extraction Scroll converts to 5 Precious Marind Ores, 5 Refined Catalysts, 2 Adventure Coins: Indomitable, and 1.22 million Sollant. November 11 is the date to watch.
