For generations, cardiologists have drawn the boundaries of the heart by hand — a labor both intimate and imprecise. Now, a research team has built an algorithm called H-MayoMamba Net that traces those same boundaries with over 95 percent accuracy, and crucially, maintains that accuracy across datasets it has never seen before. This matters not because machines are replacing physicians, but because the mechanical burden of measurement may finally be lifted — leaving human judgment free for the work only humans can do.
