In Nairobi last weekend, LEAP Africa closed the fifth cohort of its Leadership Accelerator Programme — a gathering that quietly announced something larger than a training cycle. More than 4,500 women from 60 countries sought entry; 31 were chosen for an immersive boot camp held, for the first time, outside LEAP Africa's home base — a deliberate act of continental declaration. At its heart, the programme rests on a diagnosis as old as exclusion itself: that the shortage is not of capable women, but of the access, networks, and confidence that allow capability to become consequence.
