In the rubble of a once-promising digital economy, young people in Gaza continue to gather around circuit boards and sensors, refusing to let war be the final word on their futures. Gaza's technology sector — a rare engine of income and opportunity before October 2023 — has been reduced to a fraction of itself, with schools destroyed, professionals displaced, and the infrastructure of knowledge nearly erased. What persists, in classrooms in Deir el-Balah and elsewhere, is something harder to bomb than a building: the will to learn, and the hope that skill outlasts destruction.
