A study of more than five thousand adults using a nutrition-tracking app has added empirical weight to an old intuition: that the act of paying attention to what we consume shapes what we consume. Published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research, the research found that those who logged their meals nearly every day lost almost twice as much weight over six months as those who rarely tracked at all — a reminder that self-awareness, practiced consistently, may be one of the quieter levers of lasting change.
