Between the laboratory and the clinic lies one of medicine's most enduring silences — the place where promising treatments disappear. Researchers at USC have built an automated MRI analysis system designed to make that silence speak more clearly, standardizing how brain injury is measured across six institutions and thousands of animal scans. By removing the noise of inconsistent measurement, they hope to reveal which stroke treatments carry genuine promise and which only appeared to, bringing the preclinical and clinical worlds into closer conversation.
