On a weekend in late July, more than five hundred anglers gathered along the waterways of the East Kimberley for the Brown Water Classic — a fishing tournament that has grown into something the calendar depends on. Organized by the East Kimberley Fishing Club and Tackle World Kununurra, the event offered prize money and bragging rights, but its deeper offering was rarer: the chance for a remote community to see itself whole, gathered together around a shared passion.
