A British forensic expert, drawing on criminal profiling and intimate knowledge of the terrain, has identified an abandoned racecourse as the most probable resting place of the young backpacker — a site visited but never truly searched. The killer, Bradley John Murdoch, carried his secret to the grave last year, but the landscape, largely unchanged, may yet speak for itself.
